Sing to the Well and it will become a Fountain
13th July 2016

This evening I was in worship and I saw a vision of a large gathering of people in the desert surrounded by a deep well with a little water at the bottom, but not enough for everyone to drink from freely without waiting a long time. As I looked in the vision at the gathering of people, they started singing and the well turned into a fountain with water rising high into the air causing wonder and amazement. As the singing reached a crescendo, the water rose higher and as it subsided, the height of the column reduced so it rose and fell in time with the song! The column of water was so high that it covered the people with showers of refreshing water. The wind blew the column firstly to one side and then the other so that everyone in turn could catch water to drink from receptacles or by opening their mouths. Armed angels started arriving and surrounded the people as if getting ready to escort them on their way.

I had been meditating on Numbers 21:16 where Israel is about to take the Amorite territory of Sihon in Heshbon.

Numbers 21:16
"From there they went to Beer, which is the well where the Lord said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.” Then Israel sang this song:
“Spring up, O well!
All of you sing to it—
The well the leaders sank,
Dug by the nation's nobles,
By the lawgiver, with their staves.(staffs)"

The vision is similar to several other scriptures:

Revelation 21:6
“I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.”

Isaiah 12 : 2-4
Behold God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for Yah (the LORD) has become my salvation" Therefore with JOY you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And in that day you will say "Praise the Lord, call upon His Name; declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His Name is exalted.”

The joyful drawing of water in this passage precedes evangelism.

Exodus 15 :2-3
The Lord is my strength and SONG, and He has become my salvation; He is my God and I will praise Him; my father's God and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a man of war, the Lord is His Name.

Here, praise and singing to God is associated with strength and warfare.

In Numbers 21 they had just crossed the brook Zered to get to the well at Beer. In Deuteronomy 2:13, the crossing of this brook marked the end of the years of wandering in the desert and of entering into their inheritance.

I believe God is saying that the times of wandering in the desert are over. He is showing us that the spiritual wells in our cities will flow over as a result of a new anointing in praise and worship.

Singing at the well was the prelude to Israel taking much new territory from the Amorites and their kings Sihon and Og. Deuteronomy 2:21 says there were many giants there (great, numerous and tall) but in verse 36 It says there was not one city too strong for us, the LORD delivered all to us.

Deut 3:2 says "And the Lord said to me, ‘Do not fear him, (Og) for I have delivered him, and all his people and his land into your hand; you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.’"

I believe God is showing us that:

1) We need to focus on singing to the spiritual wells in our cities to spring up! Worship leaders please write new songs about this!

2) God has given the enemy giants (spiritual powers) ruling our cities into the hands of the church as the wells overflow. We should not to be afraid of them.

3) The people of God will see their cities transformed as they share the good news of what Jesus has done for them.

Suggested Prayer Decrees:

The Lord is my Strength and Song, He has become my Salvation!

Our time wandering in the desert is over! Jesus is leading us into our inheritance!

Spring Up O Well! Everyone sing to it!

With Joy we are drawing water from the wells of Salvation!

The LORD is a Man of War, the LORD is His Name!

Strongholds in our cities have been defeated like the giants Sihon and Og. We are not afraid of them!

Jesus has given our city into our hands.
Not one city is too strong for us to take! We are more than conquerors through Jesus.
